BDO Digital migrated 170 servers from Altium Packaging's datacenter to Microsoft Azure in just three months using Azure Site Recovery, enabling the plastic container manufacturer to avoid several hundred thousand dollars in capital expenditures in a single quarter and eliminate datacenter contract expense entirely. The engagement, which followed a Microsoft-sponsored Azure Foundations Assessment plus migration planning and design, also refocused IT staff from keep-the-lights-on work onto business objectives and strengthened disaster recovery. Altium Packaging, a leading global plastic container supplier for beverage and consumer industrial products, continues to have BDO Digital monitor and optimize its Azure environment.

BDO helped the Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) achieve 99.996% transaction accuracy while processing over 2 million daily toll transactions by developing a web-based AI application that flags exceptions, routes them to the most qualified auditors, and supports reskilling toll booth operators for auditing roles. The solution addressed the challenges of transitioning to cashless payments, improving auditing efficiency, and retaining experienced staff, resulting in faster processing, streamlined data analysis, and reduced errors.

BDO Digital took Atkore's Azure Windows Virtual Desktop deployment from conception to implementation in just four days, giving the Harvey, IL-based electrical raceway manufacturer a secure remote work solution amid COVID-19. With VPN access unsuitable for personal devices and new laptops impossible to provision in time, Atkore turned to Azure Windows Virtual Desktop so employees without company laptops—including high-risk staff—could work safely from home on personal PCs. The rapid rollout preserved productivity while keeping the workforce protected during the pandemic.
